You can add a new server to the storage cluster to expand the amount of available storage.
Fields
The following table describes the information you can specify when adding a server:

To add a server
- Click the Servers tab.
- Click Add Server.
The first time you add a server, a dialog appears allowing you to specify the maximum number of servers you plan to add to the storage cloud (unless you already specified this earlier using the Projected Cloud Size section under the Settings tab).
- Type the number of servers you plan to add to your storage cloud.
You need to reserve the number of storage servers in advance. For example, if you plan to scale the storage cluster to a maximum of 20 servers, enter 20. There is no harm in assigning more than what you plan to scale.
- Click Next. The Management Console begins probing for additional servers.
- Use your installation media to boot additional storage servers, as required.
Insert the USB stick into a USB port on the second server and boot from it. The initial screen times outs in 60 seconds and automatically proceeds to remotely install the additional server.
After the server is installed, the Management Console completes probing and displays a screen allowing you to configure the new server.
- Type the server host name in the General tab. This hostname should be resolvable by DNS or in /etc/hosts on client systems which will mount Gluster volumes using the Gluster native protocol.
Review the information in the eth0 tab to verify the network address assigned to the new server by the Management Console.
- Click Add Server. The remote server installation completes, and a confirmation message appears in the Management Console.
- Exit this dialog and refresh the Management Console by switching tabs. Both servers installed now appear in the Server Manager tab.
