Gluster is designed to offer robust, reliable, and high performance file operations to client applications. However, there might be circumstances when you need to troubleshoot your Gluster cluster and, if an issue persists, contact Gluster Support.

In general, as part of your regular troubleshooting procedure, you should check the Gluster cluster if you notice the following:

  • One or more applications begin to report file access errors
  • An application unexpectedly slows (without other performance changes in your environment)
  • User operations begin generating errors
  • You cannot create, delete, or move files, directories, or links
  • Some nodes fail to respond while others are working
  • You notice significantly less storage space than expected in your cluster
  • You notice unusual entries in the Gluster logs, such as transport endpoint errors
  • You upgraded the system and notice that it is not functioning correctly
  • Data appears to be missing (extremely unlikely)

For more information, see What to Check First. If you continue to experience problems, see Contacting Gluster Support.
